Other rather dense claims are made like "in porn world, all women love anal sex". While the site admits that some women do and some don't, it doesn't seem to acknowledge the fact that most anal sex scenes take place in porn that is specifically catering to that desire. Why not just make the claim, "in porn world, all women love sex" and have it seem like some revealed truth? Another is that porn world is all about the genital close-ups and angles but in the real world people like to be close together and feel skin-on-skin contact. Well of course there's a difference, the whole point of porn is to sexually arouse a person as soon as possible. Your porn DVD is not your lover.
This is what people fail to understand about sex: it cannot and will not be corralled into a little box for our comfort. Sex is a Force of Nature.
At the Good Vibes mag, they had this screenshot:

I responded:
Well, I must be a porn chick, because going straight for my pleasure zone gets me wet and ready within five minutes and then I last for the rest of the day. I think it’s a bit narrow to exclude the porn scenario from women’s sexuality because, as I just testified, there ARE women for whom that works and who prefer that approach to sex. What’s important is knowing what your lover wants just asking them and exploring their body (ies) and reading responses. That applies whether you’ve known them for a few minutes or for several years.
Not that the so-called “real world” way doesn’t work for me, because it does. I’m a very sexual and sensual woman and there’s not just one pathway to my lust and pleasure.
This site is suspicious in its intent and its rather patronizing (and at times moralizing) tone reminds me too much of the dubious The Price of Pleasure, which I reviewed in a previous post. Like I said in my comment above, sexuality is a wide range and that makes people uncomfortable. We've been told all our lives that there's only one true, good way to have sex and everything else is wrong, icky, to be avoided. I don't know who the person behind the curtain of this website is. I would really like to know.

Thanks for the link - I like that site and lost the link when I cleaned up my favourites a few weeks ago.
I mooched around the site and found THIS ARTICLE. Looks like Obama has made up for his choice of inauguration pastor.
I don't know much about this David Ogden, but I know not to trust the horribly skewed opinion of the 'Family Values' freaks who oppose him. Can you enlighten me about this guy?
He's good people, iirc. The article is accurate but of course, judgmental as hell. Ogden was an attorney for the ACLU.
That looks like yet another example of prudish personal preference wrapped us as universal morality. It's sadly common to see people saying that any sex that is different from the model *they* enjoy is somehow wrong.
As you say many people (even *shock* women) DO like their sex a la porn. Labeling that as somehow aberrant is counter-productive and comes from a position of unexamined self-righteousness.
Love the blog.
Aspasia,
Did you see Melissa's post about this at Sexerati? She had an exchange w/ the site's creator in the comments thread.
Ooh, I did not, Amber. I'll go check that out now. Thanks for telling me!
